Undring
Figgjo, 2017
Designed by Lars Tornøe for chef Christian Pettersen towards "Chef of the Year 2015", the national championship leading to Bocuse d’Or. The concept emerged from a desire to challenge existing serving regulations. By introducing a hole in the plate, a bowl could be placed on the table through the plate—effectively bypassing the rule that prohibited chefs from placing additional elements directly on the plate. The bowls, produced in varying volumes and heights, give chefs the freedom to explore form, balance, and expression.
My role in the project was to lead the process and development of the project through design, production and launch. In 2017, Lars Tornøe and Figgjo were awarded the Red Dot Design Award for this product.
