Kvist

Concept design, 2026

The Kvist chair is a design concept for flat-packed furniture made from a single sheet of birch plywood and assembled with just eight screws. The minimal construction makes it well suited for 3D download, DIY builders, and CNC makers.

Sustainability is a core part of the concept. By using one renewable material and a highly efficient cutting layout, material waste is kept to a minimum. The flat-pack format reduces transport volume and emissions, while the simple mechanical assembly allows the chair to be easily repaired, disassembled, or recycled at the end of its life. Kvist is designed to encourage local production, long product life, and responsible use of resources.
